WESTBROOK (WGME) — The State Fire Marshal’s Office says a fire that destroyed a Westbrook apartment building Thursday night started from food left on a stove.
The fire was first reported at 71 North Street around 5:30 p.m.
Investigators determined that the fire started due to some food left on an unattended stovetop for an extended period of time.
The fire has been classified as accidental.
