The mod’s comment above is spot on. As someone who has designed consumer packaging can tell you there is abundant research these products perform better among their recognizable categories.
Milk alternatives are a case book example of how they saw huge growth where they were placed in the traditional dairy section. Something that had to be won as retailers didn’t want to give placement in among the most expensive shelf real estate for products that mostly don’t even require refrigeration.
