I didn't quite know what to expect about a wine from Lebanon. I also didn't realize how well respected Cheateau Musar is.
This stuff was soooo good. 2015 red in a magnum.
Fruit bomb on the nose, but not overpowering on the palate. Cherries cherries and more cherries. Some florals… then a hint of baking spice and white pepper, but super subtle. Medium-long finish, slightly drying at the end which suggests it could go longer in the bottle, but it's drinking so nicely now.

Can’t wait to try mine. Waiting for a special occasion.
That stuff is so good. Even their entry level Jeune bottles are fantastic.
Those guys know what they’re doing.
These can go for ages! Great to hear about this.
And the price isn’t that crazy!
Awesome I have a mag of 2013 stashed away and some 750s of 2005 and 2010 in the cellar.
I ran the wine program at a big, notable restaurant group based in Austin, TX. They revitalized an old Austin staple called Jeffrey’s and turned it into arguably Austin’s premiere fine dining spot- even before Austin became what it is today.
We had a weekly beverage class for managers and passionate servers and had current 3rd gen winemaker and CEO Mark Hochar. He serenaded us for an hour with stories of his family’s efforts during wartime and how they had to transport the grapes out the Mediterranean to get around the war zone near Beirut.
This wine has so much history and passion put into it that it is one of the most significant wines in the world, I believe. We had anywhere from 4-6 vintages available at my restaurant. I was blessed
And they need 20 years to actually fulfill their potential… what you’re tasting here is just a preview
I love Musar
