I emphasized “make sure you ready the directions.” He. Did. Not. 🥴

Clearly he needs practice. Make him do it again and follow the instructions this time.

Girl this is when you say “well, good thing we have enough ingredients for you to try again ☺️”

  3. lifeuncommon

He gets to try again and do it the right way this time. Don’t accept this.

Why are men like this? (My husband included)

  5. honey_bunny58

i’m sorry that this is what he produced. you deserve some good chocolate chip cookie bars.

  6. borrowedurmumsvcard

Weaponized incompetence. I’d be pissed he wasted all those ingredients

Does he do this with other things? Like it’s no big deal when it’s chocolate chip cookies. It’s a big deal when it’d post procedure surgical care when you’re sick.

Is this weaponized incompetence or a case of, “I’ve never done this but I’m sure I know better/all those steps must be superfluous”?

Next time, tell him to follow an instructional video on YouTube. That’s my advice for all novice bakers. Hopefully, he’ll keep trying. My first baked goods were a hot mess. It’s nice to learn something new and see yourself improve.

Ok people are being really rough on him but baking is hard! Especially if you’re already a good cook because you think baking can’t be any different from cooking when it’s totally different! I’ve always found good bakers are always good cooks but not the other way around!

i have NOOOO patience for people who refuse to read recipes. what makes you think you are smarter than centuries of baking science advances

It always makes me sad when people let their husbands act like idiots and think it’s accidental or endearing

Husband here who does the baking in the house. We do not claim him and he is not ours. Instructions are important. Get ur boi in line.

This reminds me of when my husband insists on assembling ikea furniture without even opening the manual 😑

I’d be so pissed bc it was supposed to be a nice thing for you. Ugh.

I hate incompetent men. That’s one of the easiest things you can possibly bake.

what recipe was he supposed to be reading?

  17. blnd_snow

Wow, husband bashing in the comments. So weird.

  18. Sounds like he needs more practice. He should make it again and again until he finally gets it. He’s a smart guy, right? I’m sure he’ll learn eventually with enough practice. Maybe he should pay for his practice ingredients as well, if you have separate money at all.
