sushi from Beyond Sushi, dinner at Le Basque starting with truffle and mushroom “goat cheese” croquettes, “escargot” (wood ear mushrooms), then dijon “salmon” (no idea how they made it but it was delicious) and my boyfriend got the mushroom paella which was really good too

not pictured is the lox style bagel i got from orchard grocer (was made with carrots and was delicious) and our dessert from le basque which was a delightful citrus tart type thing with a vegan meringue

    That insanely good salmon is Oshi’s salmon filet, and you can buy it to cook at home!

    How was Le Basque? I went when it first opened and service was a bit of a shit show. I am a huge fan of the group’s other restaurants like Anixi, but haven’t been back. Should I give it a second chance?
