The 39th annual World-wide Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off was held Saturday at the Northwest Pavilion with hundreds of people attending to sample crawfish etouffee and listen and dance to three live bands.
About 38 cooking booths with chefs and helpers provided their own ‘secret’ crawfish etouffee recipe for the public’s taste buds.
Awards were given at the end of the event and winners were named in Amateur and Professional Cooking, Showmanship/Booth Decoration, and the People’s Choice Award.
In the Amateur Cooking Division, placing first was AG-CON; Feucht Law Firm won second place; and winning third place was Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
In the Professional Cooking Division, Born in The Bayou Food Company won first place; Rusty’s Seasonings placed second and winning third place was Cajun Prairie Signature Foods.
In the Showmanship/Booth Decoration Competition, Lexi’s Lagniappe won first place, Ardoin’s Funeral Home (The Undertakers) won second place; and winning third place was Cajun Prairie Signature Foods.
Winning the People’s Choice Award, voted by the people, was Rusty’s Seasonings.
