Pastel de nata freshly made from a pop up food van, well converted tram. Blueberry, apple and traditional vanilla. First time trying with the fruit. All delicious

I know this exact same brand sells also in Germany from time to time at Netto supermarket – even the packaging is the same. Those are the very best one can get frozen. We love them! Of course fresh made ones are better but it’s still a pleasure to have them ready at home.

I often sprinkle some cinnamon before baking them and let them bake a minute longer then suggested – they do get burned a little just as yours but I enjoy this pretty much!

I remember discovering those in Madrid. I was flabbergasted. I felt like I had just discovered the missing link between flan and puff pastry. This pastry is truly beautiful.

It’s absolutely delicious. One of the culinary highlights of my trip to Porto πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ another one was octopus πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Ugh, I’m so jealous. I’ve had a couple here and there from bakeries but once I visited Portugal and had the real deal in Porto, it just doesn’t compare. Every once in a while I crave them and I can never have them :’)

I went to Lisbon last year and Pastel de Belem/Nata really reminds me of our krempita/kremΕ‘nita, the difference is the shape and the fact that it’s eaten warm.

  9. Blueberry pastel de nata sounds fantastic.

Love them. Have a glass of 10yr old port with them.
