Maison François 1ᵉʳ: a magnificent hidden gem of a brasserie, just a stone’s throw from the Champs…

When you think of a restaurant located near the Champs-Élysées, you immediately imagine a place packed with people, noisy, or—let’s be honest—a tourist trap… Yet, just a few meters away, on Rue François-Premier, lies a very charming brasserie. Maison François 1ᵉʳ immediately surprises with the tranquility of its neighborhood and its magnificent decor, which echoes the style of Paris’s finest restaurants. Velvet banquettes, large mirrors, carved woodwork… You could almost mistake it for a century-old Parisian establishment, evoking the Paris of yesteryear.

But make no mistake, this charming restaurant has only been open for barely a year! And yet, it has all the makings of a hidden gem you’d want to keep to yourself. The cuisine, helmed by Cilia Emilien, is flawlessly executed: indulgent, chic, yet without being overly stuffy. You’ll find the great classics of French cuisine that we love so much: Burgundy snails, deviled eggs as an appetizer, extra-tender chicken breast, Angus ribeye, or tuna tartare as a main course…

We might as well tell you right away: you won’t know what to choose because everything looks so delicious. In fact , all the appetizers (and even the main courses) are perfect for sharing! As for sides, we recommend the mashed potatoes, which pair well with almost every dish on the menu, or the green beans for a touch of freshness… For dessert, the warm tarte tatin is a surefire hit that will win over even the most discerning palates.

For us, it’s a real favorite!
