this looks way too good to just casually sit on a table like that… i remember trying to make a birthday cake once thinking it would come out simple, and somehow i got so invested in making it “perfect” that i stressed myself out more than anything. when it was finally done i didn’t even want to cut it because i didn’t want to ruin how it looked 😭 it’s funny how something meant to be enjoyed turns into this whole emotional project without you realizing it

My fellow Redditors who are drooling for a slice of this, as I am: I went to the link OP provided to look at the recipe.
If you’ve need to calm your jets, as I did, well. This baby requires 3 sticks of butter for the 4 layers—not bad.
And 6 sticks of butter for the frosting. 6. So NINE sticks of butter all together. I’m kind of hoping they made a mistake in the recipe! That’s 2-1/4 pounds of butter. Which, now I’ve written that out, actually sounds about right for a cake like this one.
And—and—12 cups of powdered sugar. Yep. 12.
I’m gonna make this one day. But I’m gonna have to fast for a month!
