  1. Better than creme brulee? Flan is mediocre at best. There is no reality where that is better. You're delusional if you think it is. And if you say it's a matter of taste then your taste is abysmal.

  2. Better than crème brûlée? I don’t know about that, but it is a similar flavor and texture profile. When each is done properly, respectively, texture of a flan is comparable to cheese cake, and should be silky. Crème brûlée is a bit lighter textured in comparison, and has a caramelized layer on top that adds a stronger flavor, but a more subtle flavor to the custard below. One could argue about flavor dynamics all day, but ultimately the preference would come down to the individual. Personally, I prefer crème brûlée, but you won’t catch me turning down either.

  3. These are not Flans, they are Egg Custard (Creme aux oeufs, which is like creme brulee without the brulee part

    Flans are a baked good and have a small amount of flower in it, and its not nearly as tasty as this, as many comments said

  4. Try eating it with Dulce de leche. That is how we do it in Uruguay. Even better if you can get Conaprole brand.
