What are the opinions on this Pit Boss Lexington for $350 as a first pellet grill I’m an experienced smoker and this is for an apartment patio, right on space and limited use. Thanks.

I have/had a Lexington bought it 4ish years ago when the last of our kids moved out. I have not had any issues with it my youngest borrowed it about 3 years ago and it’s still chugging along. The only replacement I have made is the ignitor a couple of months ago. I stepped back up in size it will hold two butts a few racks easily but it was tight depending on the size of brisket.

I would make sure your apartment allows pellet grills on patios. Some have a problem with wood, charcoal, propane, and usually only allow electric grills.

I love mine, got it this past October. Holds temp well even close to freezing temps, no issues with it outside of user error. I will say that you’ll want to make sure you have a good cover for it, mine wasn’t secured enough and blew off during a storm, which made the pellets swell and crumble in the auger. Not easy to take apart. However, it’s been phenomenal and has done everything I’ve asked for.

Owned a Pit Boss and now a Recteq. Check out the Recteq Patio Legend, far superior to my old Pit Boss.

As someone who used to swear by that brand….I loath them now and can’t wait to get a different brand.

I bought one of these at Walmart for $100 at the end of the season last year. I didn’t even need it, but i couldn’t pass it up at that price. It’s still in the box, so i can’t speak for the performance. I’m still rocking my 6 year old PB 700 and have been very happy with it, though.

  7. Pitboss is the cheap awful brand in Australia, I’d be looking around at something else.

We had one that we got used. It was our first also. Its a nice little smoker. Ours ended up catching fire and we bought a recteq. If you go this route, just keep it clean and keep flame vent closed would be my recommendation.
