I recently bought an ice cream maker, and as I am new to making ice cream I looked for a recipe and found this one which recommended adding Glycerine to help with the texture.

I assume that "Vegetable Glycerin" is what I am looking for right? But most results I found said nothing of "Food grade", mainly mentioning their product as good for skincare stuff. At the same time they were (claimed) 99.5% pure… Actually most of them said >=99.5%, so I don't know how much that is worth.

I did end up finding one that said "Food grade", but it was at least twice as expansive. I don't know enough to determine if buying that one would be "due diligence" or just falling for "marketing BS" though, so here I am. Any thoughts?

I bought one on amazon that mostly mentions skin care but also says food grade. Id have to check the brand at work tomorrow. You can buy ones that don’t mention skin care at all but idk frankly if its 100% pure vegetable glycerin Im good with that.
