Amidst its many, many menu enhancements, Taco Bell has quite a few famous fast food items. The Crunchwrap Supreme, Mexican Pizza, and Quesarito are among a few of The Bell’s most beloved offerings. While those may be old-school favorites, Taco Bell continues to debut all-new creations—like the tortilla-coated Crispy Chicken Nuggets that sold out in days during the first launch in 2024.

The nuggets were clearly a fast favorite and the chain has worked hard to bring them back to menus, along with some new offerings that use them, such as the recently launched Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider.

Maybe as famous as the menu items themselves are the Taco Bell sauces that customers use to flavor and spice up those very foods. The chain’s Diablo Sauce has reached cult-classic status after more than a decade on menus. But, despite its longevity, Taco Bell has never used the extra-hot sauce on any official menu items—until now.

Taco Bell is debuting an all-new spicy “Diablo Dust” for its Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets.

These Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets are officially the first item announced at Live Más Live 2026 to hit menus. Each tortilla chip-breaded, juicy chicken nugget is coated with the new spicy Diablo Dust that offers a “tongue-tingling heat,” according to a Taco Bell press release.

The new Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets will join menus on April 16 and be offered in four ways. You can order a five- or 10-piece à la carte entrée, which also includes your choice of dipping sauce from Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch, Bell Sauce, or Jalapeño Honey Mustard. You can also order the Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets Deluxe Combo, which includes a five-piece chicken nuggets entrée, one sauce, Chalupa Supreme, Crunchy Taco, Nacho Fries, and a drink.

Taco Bell’s Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets will be available at restaurants nationwide for a limited time. I tried them early at Live Más Live, and here is my honest review.

My Honest Review of Taco Bell’s New Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets

I’m a huge fan of Taco Bell’s Diablo Sauce. In fact, it’s the sauce I put on everything, from my Crunchwrap Supreme to the Rolled Quesadilla. Because of that, I was one of the many people excited to hear Taco Bell’s plans to add the spicy sauce flavor to its delicious chicken nuggets.

What I wasn’t prepared for, however, is just how spicy the nuggets actually are. After one bite, I could have sworn there was steam coming out of my ears like an old-school cartoon.

Because Diablo Sauce is typically mingling with other savory flavors, like meat, cheese, and sour cream, plus I can control the amount used, the spicy flavor never seemed that potent to me. But, concentrate all those spicy flavors on one small chicken nugget and you’ve got what I can only imagine is the spice level they serve on “Hot Ones.”

And dipped in the Hidden Valley Diablo Ranch, there’s no reprieve. These Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets might just be the spiciest fast food I’ve ever tasted—and, unfortunately, that did hinder how much I enjoyed them.

I could barely get through chewing the nugget before my eyes and nose began to water. And because I could only concentrate on how hot they were, I barely noticed any flavor other than “my tongue on fire.”

At Live Más Live, the nuggets were automatically served with the spicy ranch, so maybe the Bell Sauce or Jalapeño Honey Mustard will offer a more cooling effect. Otherwise, I’d be sure to have one of those drive-thru ranch packets in your glove box because you’ll probably need it.
