Key Takeaways
Kraft Mac & Cheese is releasing a restaurant-inspired collection with three new flavors.
The boxes are 30 percent larger than the classic version and offer 10 grams of protein per serving.
The lineup features premium pasta shapes and is now rolling out to retailers nationwide.
Kraft Mac & Cheese has been hard at work in the last year, crafting new products we never knew we needed. Over the summer, Kraft brought pizza-flavored mac and cheese to stores, and soon after, expanded its lineup with Garlic Parmesan Mac & Cheese and a limited-edition apple pie-flavored box just ahead of Thanksgiving.
More recently, the brand joined the protein trend with Mac & Cheese PowerMac, a revamped version of the original that boasts 17 grams of protein per serving.
Now, Kraft is switching gears and launching an all-new trio that combines restaurant-inspired taste with the convenience of a boxed meal.
Kraft Introduces Mac & Cheese Restaurant Edition
Kraft Mac & Cheese Restaurant Edition is on its way to shelves. The collection offers three restaurant-worthy flavors that you can whip up at home in less than 15 minutes. The options include Parmesan Pesto, Romano Cacio e Pepe, and Monterey Jack Caramelized Onion.

If you love fresh herbs, Parmesan Pesto is a must-try. The box contains gemelli noodles and a creamy sauce that combines basil and Parmesan in every bite. Then there’s Romano Cacio e Pepe, which includes pipette noodles in a rich sauce made with cracked black pepper and umami-packed Pecorino Romano. Lastly, there’s Kraft’s Monterey Jack Caramelized Onion mac and cheese, which brings steakhouse flavors right to your kitchen with sweet caramelized onions, Monterey Jack cheese, and cavatappi noodles.
Inside each package, you’ll find the dry ingredients you need to get started. And just like with the classic blue box version, all you’ll need to supply is water, milk, and butter.
Fans will be pleased to know that for this collection, the brand has increased the box size by 30 percent. For reference, a typical box of Kraft Mac & Cheese contains three servings, whereas this new offering has four.
We love that this lineup makes it easy to enjoy a restaurant-inspired meal at home. You can eat it as is, or let your creativity fly. A serving offers 10 grams of protein, but you can quickly boost that by pairing it with slow-cooked Italian-style chicken or adding chopped pancetta as garnish. Additionally, you can upgrade the boxed meal by mixing in sautéed spinach, steamed broccoli, or diced ham, or topping with toasted bread crumbs.
Kraft Mac & Cheese Restaurant Edition is officially heading to major retailers nationwide this month, so you can expect to see it in stores in the near future. While you wait, you can experiment with our favorite upgrades to boxed mac and cheese.
