Among the Pike Place chaos, there aren’t many escape routes we’d endorse. Le Pichet is one of them, and it’s an excellent French bistro hiding in plain sight. The place is perfect for a slow lunch, solo dinner, or simply when you’ve had it with market crowds bumping into you with their oversized backpacks. (It’s not their fault—they’re just looking for Chukar Cherries.) As long as you plan to linger and order plenty of cured pork, roasted chicken, and frites, you’ve done Le Pichet correctly.

Your first bit of Grand Central Bakery baguette and butter is free. After that, it’ll cost you.

La Charcuterie

Even if it’s 10am, a big plate of pork needs to hit the table. Build your own spread with things like rillettes, ham, and Spanish chorizo. Remember that bread from before? You know what to do.

Demi-Poulet Froid Mayonnaise

We’ve never been so happy to eat cold chicken. It’s like mindlessly gnawing on a magnificent Costco rotisserie bird from the fridge, only you’re in a lovely bistro with a glass of Sauternes, and hopefully not dressed in a groutfit.

Bavette Grillée Aux Frites Et Son Aillade Aux Amandes

Aside from the fact that you may order this steak medium rare and receive it well-done, we can’t deny that it’s a pleasant cut of beef to eat. The frites on the side have impeccable crispness that a Foley artist could use to craft audio of someone walking on autumn leaves.
