Bought crab cages last weekend in anticipation for blue crab season. I ultimately wanna catch, clean, and grill those in a garlic butter sauce. I come from a family that is blue crab fanatics. I’ve never really liked them until recently. So I bought the cages. I’ve never had them any other way but steam with beer. I want to master this so I can introduce it to my family.

Crab legs look great. Are they Tanner?

Those are snow crabs and they are already cooked when you buy them. I honestly prefer to just let them thaw out before eating. Maybe a min or two on the grill will be ok but too long and they will dry out quickly.

Grilling precooked snow crab legs? That’s uh.. something you can do i guess.

The trick I have found with precooked snow crab legs is to heat them up, then immediately cook them down so they don’t stick to the shell.
