Barilla is celebrating F1 cars with a pasta recreation of one of their iconic parts.

The pasta maker announced a new special-edition pasta shape fitting for their role as the Official Pasta Partner of Formula 1 – Barilla Racing Wheels, per an April 14 press release.

The collectors’ edition pasta mimics the design of F1 car wheels, featuring ridged outsides and detailed spokes.

The pasta box notes that the brand is the Official Partner of Formula 1, featuring racing graphics that show the tire along a track, along with a timer at the bottom.

Per the release, the wheels combine “playful design, satisfying texture and al dente performance for race day and beyond.”

“The special-edition cut combines expert craftsmanship with performance driven design,” the release said. “Its ridged, circular shape delivers a perfect al dente bite—perfect for the thrill of race day.”

The brand will have two Barilla Lasagna Bars at the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix on May 3, offering Bolognese and Ricotta and Spinach recipes. The Paddock Club at the event will have Al Bronzo by Barilla, their “Italian bronze-cut pasta designed to hold onto more sauce,” as well as Racing Wheels dishes.

“Barilla Racing Wheels celebrates the partnership between two worlds that share a focus on detail and a commitment to constant improvement,” said Barilla U.S. Pasta Category Marketing Director Angie Cotter. “With this new shape, we’re inviting fans to turn race day into a moment to gather, share a meal and enjoy the spirit of Domenica Italiana.”

The pasta brand said that they are continuing with this launch to celebrate Domenica Italiana, an Italian tradition of sharing a meal while watching Formula 1 on Sunday.

The release said that the brands hopes to turn “race weekend into a celebration of food, togetherness and Italian lifestyle.”

“It reflects Barilla’s belief that whoever you gather with, every meal tastes like family,” it said.

The Barilla Racing Wheels are available on Walmart.com and will be available in select retailers nationwide this spring. Locations can be found on Barilla.com.

The pasta brand has been known to release shaped pastas in celebration of special themes.

For Valentine’s Day in 2025, Barilla announced the return of their heart-shaped pasta. According to a press release, the pasta was meant to be a twist on the rigatoni shape.

The brand also recently partnered with Derek Hough to create eight-to-10-minute workout routines on YouTube called Protein+ Training Timers inspired by Barilla’s Protein+ pasta shapes. The workouts could be done in the time it takes to cook the pasta.

The micro workouts included moves like rotini spiral planks, spaghetti curls and penne plié squats, along with star jacks, which were inspired by the new Protein+ star shape.
