Anyone else baking in their toaster ovens? Do you choose to even though you have a full size oven available? What's your setup like?

This: Breville Smart Air Fryer Pro with a 1/4" aluminum plate as a deck. My full size oven is broken and I'm planning to replace it with an electric full size.

Edit: my first post ever to pass the 100+ upvote threshold, and my first award, too! Thank you everyone!

Well done. An oven doesn’t have to be big to be an oven.

We’re also living with the same countertop oven until our new range is delivered next month. Luckily my mom lives upstairs so I’ve been using hers for bigger things. We’ve made a lot of cookies in it.

Based on your picture I’m tempted to try mini baguettes though.

Nice. I can’t get the time and temperature righy with loaves on mine. But use it for rolls. I should play with it more.

It’s great for the summer where you can’t stand the idea of having the full oven going.

  6. I never considered baking bread in a toaster oven but now that I see yours I am very interested. Nice bakes!!!

I have the same oven and been thinking about using it for bagels. My range oven heats so weird. I think the seals are worn or something, but it’s a rental and I’d rather just not use the oven if I don’t have to.

Where did you get the deck?

Advantage over a full-size oven in that it doesn’t have as much waste heat (and make my place too hot)!

How in the world do you get a crust like that? I thought you needed to generate steam?

These look incredible. No cover for steaming required, just straight score and bake on deck? If so Ill have to try this out on my own SAFP

here! i think the UK version of the breville/sage airfryer oven is smaller though. i’ve always just put a glass bowl over the top as a make shift dutch oven but maybe i should try adding a tray below! but i’m hopefully getting a new oven soon anyways.

    your bread looks amazing 🙂

Have tried this once on a discard/throw away fun dough that I used the mixing bowl as banneton (lol) and baked straight from cold ferment. The bread was pale (prob could’ve gone longer but it tasted surprisingly good in a commercial bread way. It was bizarre.. to create steam I just plopped another tiny mixing bowl inverted on top of it and removed it at 20 mins. Probably should have preheated too.
