This week, the Eat It Up crew headed down to Saline County to Enjoy Shawarma in Bryant! Friends and family looking to try something new should look no further— here you can try delicious chicken and beef shawarma, falafel, gyros, and incredible hummus.
Owner and operator Zeyad Abdelhadi is new to Arkansas and said he hopes to bring more of his culture and the flavors of his country to the Natural State.
“I came here around two years ago with friends, and we stuck together. We opened and tried to bring the most popular food and dishes from my country that we eat daily. We eat hummus every Friday in my family,” he explained.
Many folks may not be familiar with shawarma, but it’s defined as roasted meat on a revolving spit and shaved for serving in sandwiches. Abdelhadi said that the slow fire flames make the meat more juicy and flavorful.
Also on the menu is a delicious falafel that is a best seller in Bryant.
“When you take a bite, it’s crispy and crunchy, and is mushy on the inside with incredible flavor,” he described.
That and the hummus continue to be top sellers for Enjoy Shawarma. Abdelhadi added that if you’re hesitant, just give it a try and you’ll have all the answers you’re looking for.
Enjoy Shawarma is located at 5311 Hwy 5 N #240 in Bryant, with a second location opening soon at 14524 Cantrell Road in Little Rock.
