Whipped out some heavy-hitters to see loved ones.

I heated the Island Creek tuna belly in butter in hot water, and served with baguette slices. The tuna was tender and delicious, as was the butter. It was about what I expected, but decadent and delicious.

The Wildfish smoked black cod blew me away. I like their salmon, but assumed that this would be similarly not super tender due to the smoking. Nope, this is among the most tender and succulent fish I’ve ever had, with a great smoke flavor. I think this is my new favorite Wildfish tin.

    I love Wildfish Canneries selections. I’ve got several on my fish shelf. I have not had Island Creek, but anything in butter has got to be great!

    I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to try a tin more than that tuna in butter. Holy moly it looks incredible.
