    I live in Minnesota and clams are not readily available fresh.

  3. I agree with Michael on using someone's finger to clean their own teeth. Never heard of that. It is strange.

  4. Yes, Carla! Pizza week would be wonderful! Everybody would love that, because it pretty much includes everyone watching. It’s not about ONE ingredient. Never mind that pizza wasn’t really a thing most of us boomers remember from childhood at all. Sorry, shouldn’t have said I’m a boomer but it’s too late now (Carole King). Loved the Chew and love Chewed Up a million times more now. Makes me glad y’all were erased to give some show a third hour or whatever the hell that was, BECAUSE y’all are so much more fun and I love you all 3 !

  5. I adored Michael's rant about seasoning before tasting! I took over cooking for my family at 13. My Mom, who didn't enjoy cooking, would liberally sprinkle black pepper on everything before eating. I learned about white pepper & would make sure food was flavorful before her blackening act. She finally learned.

  6. Carla rocks!! Carla, don’t worry about it. When I was a teacher, I paraphrased my HS geometry teacher’s warning— I used to say, “I run on school time. ‘Tomorrow’ is the next time I’ll see you, “Yesterday’ was the last time I saw you; don’t bother about the calendar.” <3

  7. I feel the same as Michael! It’s weird to grab someone finger to remove something. I say, you have food on your cheek, etc.

    CK, I love linguine and clams so I will be printing the recipe. I’ve used canned whole clams as I can’t find fresh although I will be on the lookout for them. Never do I top with cheese even if canned!

  8. I disagree about carrying hot sauce around. BUT!!!!!! I also used to eat a ton of instant ramen, when working at a call center. AND!!!!!! I was in the military, so it became a habit for me to ALWAYS HAVE TABASCO!!!!!!!!

  10. I didn’t know that steamers are soft shell. The only soft shell I knew about growing up were razor clams, which we loved cooking on the barbecue. Our hard shell clams were mostly Manila, Horseneck, and Geoduck, the latter two being highly prized because they were the most difficult to dig.

  11. To Carla’s point, many Asian restaurant with large menus do so because they combine different flavor profiles with different main ingredients.

  12. I love you all but agree with Michael. Asking for a finger to clean food out of their teeth or face is weird lol😂😂

  13. I always like to eat dishes as prepared. I really don't like it if I have to add salt, pepper or hot sauce etc. It's actually a negative to me at a restaurant. And to add as a home cook, I get insulted when people add stuff I make too LOL. They shouldn't need to.

  14. I love your show and how you all interact. Though I love Clinton – and Michael's characterization of him as being "briny"(which I think is what I love about him) – I think it is weird that he uses someone else's finger to clean their own tooth, chin, whatever.

  15. Michael, is right, it is weird to ask for your friend’s finger and pick their teeth. We just do a smile check and give a nod if all good.

  16. You are 100% correct Michael, it is very werid to take a persons finger to get something out of their teeth. Just say "Hey, you have something in your teeth."

  17. What does it say about me that my favorite thing to cook is store bought refrigerated cookie dough, the good kind.
    I cook dinner 4-5 times a night, I’m a pretty good cook, but those cookies are my favorite to cook. 😂

  18. I agree about adding hot sauce or salt before even tasting. Had a friend that would add salt before tasting, drove me crazy. Did go to a corp buffet dinner and brought lemon wedges for the salmon. I knew they would not have lemon. Thank you Carla for saving the pasta left in the pan, I was so worried about it.

  19. Love the hometown love! Since you guys are talking about home week, I've got one for you. Just to put it out there, why don't you do Canada Day? We celebrate our Independence Day on July 1st, so how about making things that are strictly Canadian, and bring on one the best Canadian chefs too! Just a suggestion. Love to see your smiling faces again. ❤ I watched The Chew all the time, and glad to see you back.
