SACRAMENTO FIREFIGHTERS SAY A FIRE BROKE OUT AT GUNTHER’S ICE CREAM. THE LOCATION ON FRANKLIN BOULEVARD JUST AFTER 430 THIS MORNING. NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT THERE WAS SOME SMOKE DAMAGE TO THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING. CUSTOMERS SAY THEY WERE SADDENED TO HEAR ABOUT THAT FIRE, BUT ARE HOPEFUL THE BUSINESS CAN RECOVER. SEEING IT, SEEING THIS HAPPEN JUST IS KIND OF SAD BECAUSE IT’S LIKE THIS HAS BEEN HERE SINCE 1949. IT’S A STAPLE. IT’S ALMOST 100. IT’S ALMOST BEEN HERE 100 YEARS. SO FOR ME, IT’S JUST A LITTLE SAD.
