There’s something quietly satisfying about a meal that unfolds in small, thoughtful portions, and Ottimo understands that instinct rather well. Tucked within the elegant sprawl of ITC Royal Bengal, the restaurant’s new small plates menu feels like a leisurely conversation over food. The idea is simple—share, sample, and circle back to what you love. A plate of Sweet Potato Truffle & Parmesan Fries arrives crisp and indulgent, while the Tomato, Pesto & Mozzarella Bruschetta offers a lighter, familiar comfort. But the menu finds its real charm in the unexpected. Zucchini and sun-dried tomato dumplings paired with goat cheese bring a delicate balance of flavours, and the grilled boletus with coffee foam lingers with an earthy, almost contemplative finish.
Seafood lovers will find joy in the seared scallops with garlic and caper butter, while the Chicken Parmigiana delivers a sense of nostalgia without feeling predictable. It’s the kind of menu that encourages you to slow down, order one more plate, and stretch the evening just a little longer, best enjoyed in good company, with no rush to leave the table. Here’s what we liked from the menu.
Crisp on the outside and soft within, the Sweet Potato Truffle and Parmesan Fries are tossed in aromatic truffle oil and finished with a generous shower of finely grated Parmesan.
Earthy Mushroom Pate pairs beautifully with crisp Ciabatta slices and marinated olives, offering a rich yet balanced bite.
Zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes and Scamorza (a type of Italian cheese) dumplings flavoured with black pepper and goat cheese cream and served with arugula salad.
Try the Crumbed Fish served on a bed of charred cauliflower puree, salsa verde and marinated olives.
Golden-crisp crumbed Chicken Parmigiana meets a rich tomato sauce and a generous melt of cheese in this comforting Italian classic.
“At Ottimo, this menu was designed around the idea of sharing, not just food, but moments. Each small plate reflects a balance of comfort and curiosity, where familiar Italian flavours meet a contemporary expression. I wanted guests to explore freely, mix and match, and discover something new with every bite. It’s about slowing down, enjoying the table, and letting the experience unfold naturally over good conversation and great company,” said junior sous chef Darshani Harikrishna.
