Welcome back to the channel! Today, we are making Cinnamon Sugar Koulourakia.
These are traditional Greek cookies, but with a super fun and delicious twist. Instead of brushing them with the usual egg wash and sesame seeds, we are going to roll them in a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating. They are beautifully crisp, buttery, and the absolute perfect cookie to dunk into your morning coffee or tea.

🥣 Recipe: Cinnamon Sugar Koulourakia
For the Dough:
1 cup (2 sticks) of room temperature butter
1 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
½ cup orange juice
½ teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
6 ½ cups all-purpose flour
For the Coating:
1 cup sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
🧑🍳 Instructions:
Prep: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the room temperature butter and sugar together until creamed and fluffy. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and beat well to combine.
The Orange Juice Mixture: Dissolve the baking soda into the orange juice and let it bubble. With your mixer on low, add the orange juice mixture to the bowl and mix until just combined.
Add Eggs: Keep the mixer on low and add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add Dry Ingredients: Slowly mix the baking powder into your flour. Then, add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stop when you have exactly one cup of flour left to add.
Knead: Use your hands to knead the final cup of flour into the dough until fully combined.
Chill: Place the dough in a Ziploc bag and refrigerate for at least two hours.
Prep for Baking: When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F again. Stir together the 1 cup of sugar and 3 teaspoons of cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Shape the Cookies: Remove the dough from the bag. Break off a 1-inch chunk and roll it out into a 9-inch log that is about ½-inch thick. Fold the dough rope in half and twist the legs together three times.
Coat & Bake: Roll the twisted cookies in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
Finish: Once the cookie sheet is full, bake for 20 minutes. Remove the cookies and transfer them to a cooling rack before serving. Enjoy!
