Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market Truffle, an independent, family-run restaurant in Swansea.

Known for its freshly made dishes using locally sourced ingredients and warm, welcoming atmosphere, Truffle is located on King Edwards Road in Uplands, one of Swansea’s liveliest neighbourhoods with a vibrant food and culture scene. Truffle’s cuisine is recognised for its French, Welsh and contemporary influences, and whilst it is fully licensed, the restaurant offers a popular “bring your own” drinks policy.

Over the years, Truffle has built an excellent reputation and loyal customer base, achieving 4.8 out of 5 stars across major review platforms. The restaurant offers a cosy, high-quality dining experience and has established itself as one of Swansea’s most respected independent restaurants.

Truffle has been run by Jonathan Cox and Jodie Barlow-Haynes since 2017. After almost a decade at the helm, with chef Jonathan running the kitchen and Jodie managing front of house, they have decided to sell the restaurant to spend more time with their young family and focus on other interests.

The sale of the leasehold presents an exciting opportunity for a new operator to take on a restaurant with a strong brand and well-known reputation, as well as the potential to enhance its offering further, such as extending the opening hours.

Jonathan and Jodie commented, “Truffle has been our passion for many years. We are incredibly proud of how the business has grown, with loyal customers who return time and again, and the reputation we’ve built for our service and quality food. We will be sad to leave our successful business but have decided to make a lifestyle change to be able to spend more quality time with our young family. We hope the next owners will take Truffle forward into its next exciting chapter.”

Graeme Clifford, Business Agent at Christie & Co, is managing the sale process and commented, “This is an attractive and profitable restaurant in a popular part of the city.  It has a great reputation with a lot of repeat business and there are plenty of opportunities for a new owner to expand the business including broadening the food offer, introducing more covers, and extending the opening hours. The site could suit new entrants experienced restaurateurs or small multi-site operators.”

Truffle is on the market with a leasehold asking price of £75,000.
