The first four months of 2026 have seen the closings or announced closings of at least nine longtime Las Vegas restaurants. Now, word has emerged that a 10th mainstay is shuttering, this one a beloved neighborhood Italian spot known for its chicken Parm, seafood pastas, prime rib, lavishly portioned desserts and celebratory gatherings.
On Monday, Mike McQuady, one of three owners of Tuscany Grill on South Eastern Avenue in Henderson, confirmed the restaurant was being sold and would close around the end of June or sometime in July for renovation into a new concept.
The new owners would not retain the Tuscany Grill name, McQuady said, adding that the sale was partly prompted by his two business partners planning to retire. McQuady said he was looking for a new location to reopen Tuscany Grill.
The restaurant debuted in January 1999 at 11105 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 100.
Other closings
In February, The Cupcakery, a Vegas-born bakery that once had four locations across the valley, closed on South Eastern Avenue in Henderson, its final shop, after 20 years. In March, after more than a decade, White Castle ended its run of small square burgers inside Casino Royale on the Strip. German Bread Bakery served its last rye breads, pretzel breads and strudel with the sudden closing of both its stores in March after about 15 years.
Late March saw Egg Works, the breakfast and lunch stalwart, shutter its South Rainbow Boulevard store, followed a week later by its West Flamingo Road restaurant, both after almost 30 years. Squeeze In, known for its omelets, recently closed after a decade on South Fort Apache Road.
MGM Resorts International announced in April that the buffet at the MGM Grand, which dates to opening day of the hotel-casino in 1993, would shutter after service May 31. Most notably, the company also announced this month that Le Cirque, one of the founders of the modern fine dining movement in Vegas, would close following dinner Aug. 23 after almost 28 years at Bellagio.
