Locally born elevated Greek fast-casual concept The Gyro Project continues to expand in New Jersey.

The chain’s latest location will open April 23 at 269 Livingston St. in Northvale. The Gyro Project offers a modern, street food-style menu featuring gyros, small plates, specialty fries, pitas, bowls, salads, platters, baked goods and Greek frozen yogurt twists.

Childhood friends and Bergen County restaurateurs George Tenedios and Spiro Kokkosis founded the concept. The Gyro Project debuted three years ago in Fort Lee.

Since then, the ST Management Group-owned brand has gone on to add four sites in New York City and one at the Junction at Gateway Center in Newark. After Northvale, The Gyro Project expects to open its ninth outpost this summer on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Commenting on the latest launch, Tenedios said, “We’re excited to continue growing in New Jersey and bring The Gyro Project experience to Northvale. New Jersey is where it all began for us, so returning to our flagship state and expanding here in Bergen County feels especially meaningful. We look forward to serving both new guests and our loyal fans in the area.”

Tenedios is also the founder of Manhattan-based healthy fast-casual salad chain fresh&co. Kokkosis is the owner of several Times Square staples, such as Majestic Deli, Premier Deli and The Times Eatery.

In Northvale, The Gyro Project’s 2,500-square-foot restaurant will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. for dine-in and takeout.

To celebrate its grand opening, The Gyro Project will offer $5 gyros to the first 100 in-store guests beginning at 5 p.m.

Additionally, all locations will give 10% off in-store orders for nurses and hospital staff who show valid work credentials for National Nurses Week (May 6–12).
