Taking a hot air balloon ride is one of those bucket list activities that most people never really get a chance to check off their list, so for those adventurous souls out there dying to try it, now’s your chance!
This May, on Friday, May 8th, and Saturday, May 9th, the Wind Vineyards Hot Air Balloon Festival will be around 2.5 hours south of the District in Tappahannock, Virginia.
What makes the Wind Vineyards Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival a can’t-miss event
This will be the fourth annual edition of the festival, so if you’ve attended it in the past, then you have an idea of what to expect.
The event features an array of activities that are fit for all audiences:
Tethered balloon rides.
Chartered flights.
Monster Truck rides.
A vendor fair featuring artisans and local businesses.
Live music.
Pony rides + other farm animals.
A selection of wines, sangria, hard ciders, and even wine slushies! (Plenty of non-alcoholic options will be available as well)
Food Trucks.

How do you get tickets, and how much do they cost?
There are several ticket options that you can opt for if you want to get into the festival.

Friday General Admission – $31.58
Friday Child (3-10) General Admission – $21.29
Friday Night Dry Camping – $31.58
Saturday General Admission – $31.58
Saturday Child (3-10) General Admission – $21.29

Saturday VIP 10×10 tent with six chairs (6 General Admission Tickets) – $412.31
Tickets are still available, but as the festival approaches and ticket demand increases, the festival could sell out, so don’t wait to buy tickets!
If the festival doesn’t sell out, Wind Vineyards stated that they will also sell cash-only entry tickets at the festival gates.
