Italian restaurant, Godi La Vita has been an Adelaide favourite for a decade and I’m sure each guest has wished they could make the same great dishes that chef Federico Godi serves up each day.

Now, due to popular demand, you can.

The venue, home of the iconic cheese wheel pasta, is bringing us three cult-favourite sauces that are bottled up to perfection and made to take home to family and friends.

“We see the people’s reaction here when they eat, and they say, ‘Can I have some of this? It’s amazing. Can I bring it home?’ And so, yes, now you can,” Federico said.

“It’s not only something that we can sell here, but something we can also sell in other stores,” Federico said.

The secret is certainly in the sauces, and now that secret is all yours with the unveiling of a Honey and Pepper Mustard dressing, Honey BBQ sauce and mild tomato Salsa Nostra.

“I think it’s nice because we try them all here and we are a little bit obsessed with them,” Federico said. 

“The idea is to keep things simple, something you can drizzle over a fresh salad or stir into a dish as a sauce, so you can get great flavour without putting in much effort in the kitchen.”

Let’s start with an introduction to Salsa Nostra, a customer all time favourite.

This is a staple that accompanies the famous classic Sourdough Garlic Bread at Godi’s. It’s also the perfect dipping sauce for any occasion. Think slow-simmered tomato sauce crafted using premium vine-ripened tomatoes, fragrant herbs and carefully balanced seasoning. It’s the type of sauce that’s designed for those who love depth of flavour with a hint of heat.

Inspired by the heart of Italian home cooking and perfected in the Godi kitchen, Salsa Nostra is versatile, vibrant and made to elevate everyday meals.

Next up is a real crowd-pleaser and wow-factor at any backyard BBQ, the Premium Honey BBQ sauce.

This sauce will make any cut of meat fly off the grill, perfectly blending golden honey with rich, smoky barbeque spices to create a glaze that’s sweet, sticky and full of character. Smooth on the palate with a subtle savoury finish, this sauce delivers that irresistible caramelised edge when grilled, roasted or, brushed or as a dip to pair with your favourite dishes.

For inspiration, try out Godi’s smoky BBQ kilpatrick oysters with guanciale. They’re classic chargrilled oysters topped with crispy guanciale and the flavour of Godi’s Honey BBQ sauce, making them a perfect starter or share plate.

Crafted to perfection, the Honey & Cracked Pepper Mustard dressing combines sweetness, tang and a warm, sharp kick of heat. The spiciness of fresh cracked black pepper and the natural warmth of mustard meet the softness of honey for a bold, balanced flavour.

It’s the perfect dressing for a charred cos lettuce and pancetta salad. The grilled cos lettuce adds a charcoal flavour, while crispy pancetta and a sprinkle of parmesan add the perfect finishing touch.

The finisher, of course, is the Honey & Pepper Mustard dressing, drizzled generously to add a bright, pungent flavour without overdoing it.

All three sauces are available now to buy directly from their website or in-house, along with new recipes for each one (that update regularly). The sauces are also available as gift packs of three, six or nine, and gift cards are available to purchase for any special occasion.

“We carefully crafted a list of recipes that covered all aspects from breakfast to lunch and dinner, then sides or entrees or main meals that use the sauces as a pair, a main ingredient or as a dipper.”

In the near future, Godi La Vita is also hoping to add condiments to the range, together with pasta sauce made from scratch in its kitchen.
