Pho beats ramen for me, and I’ve lived in Japan for a long time.

  5. Altruistic_Standard

  6. breitbartholomew

  7. CockchopsMcGraw

My favorite ‘soup’ of all time is seafood chowder with chunks of fish and whatever else you have like clams, shrimp, even crab meat or mussels. The best fish is halibut but it’s expensive so I usually use cod. Potatoes and celery make up the veg but parsley adds a nice flavor as a garnish.

I like all sorts of soups. Ramen is definitely up there with pho and tom kha

I think many of my favourite soups are often noodle soups, though certainly not all of them!

Korean soup-stews are fabulous, I think my favourite is yukgaejang but sundae-guk and sundubu-jjigae are great too

I love ramen, probably tonkotsu first, then tori paitan level with miso ramen, then maybe a good shoyu…

Also love pho and bun bo hue from Vietnam

And tom kha gai from Thailand

French onion soup is amazing when made well

A really good clam chowder from the USA

Cream of tomato soup, that’s a childhood nostalgia thing and often just what I want when feel ill

    Scottish cullen skink is fabulous

And Chinese crab and egg drop soup

That’s off the top of my head, I’m sure I’ve missed many I love!

  11. Generally ramen is way heartier then pho so I prefer the latter, there are some clear broth ramen types but the mainstream like hakata or any bone based ones are insanely rich so if it’s everyday then pho please.

  12. i think ramen’s the best, but i could eat pho every day.

I make a pretty good French onion soup. It’s not complicated but it takes a long time to caramelize all the onions.
