What’s Cooking: serving authentic Filipino food with Mama Merce’s Kitchen

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Mama Merce’s Kitchen serves authentic Filipino food through food truck and pop-up events.

Tasty menu items include pork belly roll, fried chicken and chicken adobo.

Owners Edmund S. Laforga, Jr. and his wife Lorena run the food truck with the help of Laforga’s sister Princess Mae Sacayanan, a social media influencer, and cousin Jorlie Pesca.

The names may sound familar.

They are the family of Bretman Rock, social media and beauty influencer based in Honolulu.

The foodtruck hold Rock’s mother’s namesake, Mercedita Sacayanan.

Mama Merce’s Kitchen is a regular vendor at the “What the Truck” street festivals on the first and third Friday of the month at Waikele Center.

They also offer full-service catering with complete buffet setup, for parties, weddings, and special events.
