  1. Hey Julia’s husband, lots of us live alone and we aren’t sad. I’ve done it for 25 years. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  2. Wait, wait. You mean ACTUAL RECIPES? You mean singletons don't just eat stuff plopped on top of crackers or those tiny cocktail breads, eaten while standing over the sink??? Huh. Imagine that. Loved seeing your puppy, Julia – more of him please! These are great recipes, I may have to break out of my "singleton" habits to try these!

  3. ATK is quite good about showing vegetarian and vegan recipes but I was really surprised that out of four savory recipes in this video, not one veg option.

  4. I've got to try that lemon poppyseed cake. I've always got those ingredients lying around, and I like that there's not a lot of cleaning to do afterward.

  5. I thought super curled shrimp is a sign of being over done? It should be a J, not C. Someone please help if you can. Thanks!

  6. I'm loving this episode. I can watch Julia at Home all day long. She's a great teacher and she makes cooking look so easy.

  7. This is a bit off-topic, but I've been watching you for twenty-five years and always admired your wedding ring and just noticed the blue. Is that enameling or did you add sapphires? Either way, it's stunning!

  8. I like Julia and her recipes are good, no doubt. I may write down some of them, but I won't go for the paywall.

  9. Julia, I loved this episode, but as a senior I can’t eat the spicy food. Do you have some more recipes that are tasty without any heat? Thank you

  10. Thank you for this episode. It’s so hard to make meals for just me. Even with careful meal planning, I always end up with food waste.

  11. "Here’s" is a contraction for "here is". You would not say "here is 5", you would say "here ARE 5". Whoever wrote this header needs to brush up on their grammar if they want to work in social media.

  12. My absolute favorite cookbook is ATK's Cooking For Two. It's pretty much the only cookbook I use. Thanks for these recipes too.

  13. Finally, given the % of Americans that live alone/are single is growing, you would think there would be more programs focusing on this. I thank you for doing a program focused on cooking for one.

  14. This fails as a cooking for one video right out of the gate. Wasting most of a lime for a small amount of zest and juice 😕. This is why people don't like to cook for one. Ingredients like this create too much waste.

  15. Yes, My absolute favourite… one pan , solo SHRIMP TACOS 🍤🌮 !!!
Hmmm, maybe … Julia's at Home Solo Plate recipe book coming soon ? Just sayin .

  16. The big problem I have when cooking for one (or two) is that ingredients don't come in small containers. For instance, when you grate cucumber for the sauce, what do you do with the rest of the cucumber? I guess you could make a salad, but then I have to figure out what to do with the rest of the lettuce.

  17. My cooking for 1 is very sad because my husband passed away. I used to love to cook & try all kinds of things for us. But my heart is no longer into cooking, especially not just for me.

  18. Sure recipies for one but you have to prepare and have ingredients on hand. Have to go shopping to get tomatoes, mangoes etc. NOt things I usually keep at home. Interesting but a bit more complicated
