France’s public health agency Santé Publique France has released a recommended weekly meal plan as part of its Manger Bouger campaign promoting healthy eating.
The menu follows the traditional French three-course format — starter, main and dessert — and includes a mix of vegetables, grains, fish, meat and dairy, with several vegetarian dishes.
Typical meals include salmon with pasta, falafel with quinoa, turkey à la Provençale and onion quiche with salad.
The plan also reflects official guidance to reduce meat consumption and increase fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
While drinks are not included, government advice suggests limiting alcohol to no more than two glasses of wine per day and no more than ten per week.
