NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An attempted carjacking on Eighth Avenue South resulted in the deadly shooting of a 44-year-old food delivery driver.
The driver had stopped to pick up an order from a nearby restaurant and when he returned to his Dodge Charger when an armed man approached him and demanded the car.
The driver retrieved a pistol from his car, but the gunman shot him in the leg. The driver returned fire and killed the gunman.
The carjacking suspect has not been identified. The delivery driver has been transported for medical treatment.
