When I was a kid, fettuccine Alfredo could be found at one of two restaurants: Fazoli’s for a casual weeknight meal, or Olive Garden for birthday dinners. Both options came with unlimited garlicky breadsticks, which was the only appropriate accompaniment to such a pasta. Of course, as we got older and dining out got more expensive, my mother had to invent a way to recreate the creamy, cheesy, buttery sauce at home.

Her recipe was just two ingredients: a jar of Alfredo sauce and a box of dried fettuccine (usually Barilla, which still makes some of the best pasta around). All these years later I basically do the same — only, I’ve upgraded my jarred sauce to Yo Mama’s Foods Alfredo.

What’s So Great About Yo Mama’s Foods Alfredo?
You’re likely familiar with the brand’s unbelievably vibrant marinara. I was introduced to Yo Mama’s Alfredo sauce a little over a year ago, and my only regret is that we didn’t meet sooner. This delicious jarred sauce takes a cue from traditional Alfredos. It’s creamy and loaded with plenty of Parmesan and butter. And yet, Yo Mama’s puts its own spin on the classic by giving it a tangy, acidic punch with ingredients like citrus fiber, lactic acid, and lemon juice, which cuts through the richness.

If you like your Alfredo with a kick, Yo Mama’s also makes a Spicy Alfredo made with Calabrian chiles for a slow, subtle, underlying heat that marries beautifully with the generous amount of heavy cream. Garlic-lovers may want to veer towards its Roasted Garlic Alfredo; roasting the cloves brings out a savory note, and there’s a nice smattering of black pepper to give it an additional punch.

What’s the Best Way to Enjoy Yo Mama’s Foods Alfredo?
I will never say no to a piping-hot pile of fettuccine Alfredo at the end of a long day, and this sauce is perfect to make just that. I wouldn’t necessarily dip my breadsticks in this sauce because of the extra sourness from the lemon juice and citric acid, but it coats veggies beautifully. So feel free to add your veggie of choice for a little added nutrition and fiber (I like broccoli). You can even toss in a grilled chicken breast to up the protein.
