HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The turnaround at Bridge Street Town Centre’s Italian dining scene was swift.

Bravo! Italian Kitchen closed its doors for the last time Sunday after years as a fixture at the Huntsville shopping and dining destination. Less than 24 hours later, a replacement was already lined up.

North Italia, an upscale Italian concept owned by The Cheesecake Factory Inc., announced that it will take over the Bridge Street space. No opening date is mentioned.

The addition will give Bridge Street two Cheesecake Factory-owned restaurants at one destination — the flagship Cheesecake Factory already operates at the center.

North Italia positions itself as a scratch-kitchen concept, with handmade pastas and pizzas built around seasonal ingredients. The chain, which has been operating for more than 20 years, describes its approach as rooted in traditional Italian cooking while staying open to modern technique and flavor.

The chain already has a presence in Alabama — a Birmingham location gives North Italia fans in the area a preview of what’s coming to Huntsville.
