WYOMISSING, Pa. – A new destination for specialty pizzas, subs and other tasty eats is welcoming guests in Berks County.

Vinny G’s, serving freshly prepared Italian cuisine, opened Monday at 18 A State Hill Road in Wyomissing, co-owner Santo Giannotti told 69 News.

The restaurant occupies an updated space that previously housed City Girl Juice, a business offering cold-pressed juices, smoothies and acai bowls.

“I grew up in this area and went to school here,” Giannotti said. “So, it’s a place that I love, and we’re really just trying to give back to the community that we’ve been a part of for so long. We’ve gotten great feedback so far.”

Giannotti grew up in the restaurant business, with his family owning and operating several local dining establishments over the years.

Currently, relatives operate Giannotti’s Country Manor on Pricetown Road in Alsace Township, he said.

At Vinny G’s, named after his father, Santo is heading operations alongside his wife, Katelyn.

The restaurant has a tagline of “raised on pizza,” and the couple’s two children, ages 9 and 6, plan to help out where they can, Santo said.

“They’re going to learn, and they’re going to be raised on pizza the same way that I was,” Santo said with a laugh.

Vinny G’s offers a variety of made-to-order pizzas, including veggie, ricotta pepperoni, spicy (honey hot drizzle with spicy sausage and sliced long hots) and Vinny special (chicken, onion, bacon and special sauce).

Guests also can enjoy subs such as ribeye steak (Cooper cheese with optional onions, sauce and long hots), classic Italian (salami, ham and capocollo), Messina (turkey, bruschetta and fresh mozzarella), Nero Fiddle (spicy mayo, ham and pepperoni) and chicken cutlet (vodka sauce, Cooper cheese and mushrooms).

Other menu highlights include salads such as chicken Caesar and chickpea, sides such as fries and mac and cheese and kids’ meals such as meatballs with sauce and chicken fingers with fries.

Vinny G’s, open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, features dining room seating for around 50 guests.
