A ‘beloved’ Italian restaurant known for its ‘authentic Roman cuisine’ is set to close its doors for good. The Spaghetti Incident, located on Stokes Croft, announced in March that it would be “closing in the coming weeks”.
When BristolLive visited yesterday (April 27), the restaurant was closed and a notice on its online bookings page reads: “This restaurant is not accepting bookings online”.
The Spaghetti Incident team shared a photo and wrote: “It’s a goodbye. We will be closing our doors definitely in the coming weeks. To all our customers that have supported us in these years, thank you for making this journey unique, for making us feel special.”
Fans, foodies and locals were quick to share their sadness at the news, calling it ‘the end of an era’. One said: “Sad to hear this. You do the best carbonara in Bristol (as approved by my Roman partner). Good luck for whatever you do next.”
A second commented: “Very sad to hear this. You were always our before gig/theatre dinner. The best rosemary and sea salt focaccia and carbonara. Wishing you all the best for the future.”

While a third wrote: “This is very sad news, I’m so sorry to hear this. You have forever raised my standards for pasta, and I’m so happy to have met you all. Good luck for the future.”
A fourth said: “I’m sorry to hear this. It’s a difficult time to run a restaurant in the UK.” And a fifth added: “What a shame – the best pizza, pasta and tiramisu I ever tried! Best wishes.”
The team haven’t given further information around the reason for the closure. The Spaghetti Incident opened in 2019 and its menu featured everything from Aperol spritz and limoncello, to arancini, pasta and pizza dishes, as well as a range of tiramisu flavours, including strawberry, pistachio, Amaretto and cherry tiramisu.
