Rochester Hope on Sunday cut the ribbon on its new expanded food pantry on the campus of St. Michael’s Church.

The pantry is located on the border of the 14605 and 14621 ZIP codes, which officials say are two of New York state’s most food insecure ZIP codes.

“We’ve seen a growing need in our community, and this expansion is our response—to meet more of our neighbors with dignity, consistency, and care,” Dawn Burdick, executive director of Rochester Hope, said in a statement. “As more individuals and families turn to us for support, this space allows us to not only serve more people, but to do so in a way that respects the worth of every individual.”

The pantry says the expansion nearly doubles its current size.
