In celebration of its 10th anniversary in Tyler, Christus Health is honoring a decade of service rooted in dignity, integrity and excellence to the community with a donation to the East Texas Food Bank, supporting ten partner food pantries across the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System area.

The $10,000 donation targets food insecurity, a priority identified through Christus Health’s community health needs assessment. In a surprise announcement, the East Texas Food Bank shared that an anonymous donor has matched the $10,000. The donation came on East Texas Giving Day, when the community joined for an online 18-hour fundraiser to support over 300 nonprofits, including the food bank.

The food bank estimates that the $20,000 contribution will feed approximately 100,000 families across East Texas.

“This anniversary is not just about reflecting on where we’ve been over the last 10 years in Tyler but reaffirming our commitment to walk alongside our neighbors when they need us most,” said Jason Proctor, president of Christus Trinity Mother Frances Health System. “By supporting the East Texas Food Bank and these local pantries, and by serving alongside them as volunteers, we are living out our mission beyond the walls of our hospitals.”

In addition to the financial contribution, Christus associates will volunteer at each of the ten food pantries receiving food through the East Texas Food Bank, providing hands-on support and strengthening local partnerships.

The recipient pantries include:

Community Care Food Pantry in Athens
Manna, Inc. in Canton
H.O.P.E. in Jacksonville
David Powell Community Food Pantry in Lindale
Rosehill Community Food Pantry in Mineola
Rockhill Food Pantry in Chandler

“This is about making sure the families in our communities have the support they need to make it through a hard season,” said Andrea Wilson-Lobaugh, executive director of PATH. “That is why partnerships like this mean so much, no one organization can meet a need that is this big, it takes all of us working together to keep our communities strong.”
