Ive dabbled in making steak before and never have had wonderful results until I got this SV… i’ve had steak 3 times this past week since I’ve gotten it 😭😭 are there any cheaper cuts of meat you guys think I should try? I’ve done ribeye and NY strip so far! I have a big ole pork tenderloin in the freezer air sealed and ready I think ima make tomorrow! Recipes for that would be awesome too!

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Long cook for chuck
Or if you can find it – picanha
Good luck on that pork tenderloin. My last one was simply amazing.
138F for 1:45. Stayed on a rack in my fridge overnight then seared on my cast iron. Perfect pink, beautiful crust.
Ribeye is next. How did you do yours? Yours is beautiful!
you have obviously figured it out and are going to be the go to person for steak in the family 😄
this works with almost anything (chicky, fish, pork)
48hr chuck roast, havent perfected temp yet have to ask around for that but its basically a poor mans ribeye and is fantastic
If you have a farm near you, you can spend more in total now but less per pound by buying an entire cut of meat and having them cut into steaks. If you buy the whole cut, the farm by me cuts for free and vacuum seals. This week, it is whole NY Strips cut free for $8.99/lb. That’s $5-8/lb cheaper and you know where your cow was raised. I bought two whole ribeyes the last time it went on sale for that price.
Great sear… Cast iron?
Pork tenderloin is awesome I do 138 for 2-3 hours
Chuck roast is a cheaper and popular one, something like 30 hours at 135-138
Anything that isn’t as tender is usually cheaper and the beauty of SV is it can make anything tender if you give it enough time
I get 5 or 6 sirloins in a pack at BJs for about $30, season, vacuum seal and sous vide over the next couple of weeks. I’ve never done a sous vide over about 3 hours, I’ll have to try a roast at some point.
