Cheesecake and beer are two things I enjoy very much separately. Together, I would usually have questions. But Junior’s making a whole dessert-beer lineup is weird enough to get my attention.

Junior’s is teaming up with Brooklyn brewery Other Half on a new limited-edition beer lineup inspired by some very New York desserts. The collab includes four different beers, each pulling flavor cues from iconic sweets and soda-shop classics, with Junior’s cheesecake very much driving the conversation.

The lineup officially drops May 7 and includes a Strawberry Dream Imperial IPA, a Key Lime Cheesecake Sour IPA, an Egg Cream Milk Stout, and a Black and White Cream Ale.

The most straightforward cheesecake swing is the Strawberry Dream Imperial IPA, which takes its cues from Junior’s strawberry cheesecake. The Key Lime Cheesecake Sour IPA sounds even more committed, with lime, graham cracker, milk sugar, and oats in the mix.

The other two go broader with the New York dessert theme. The Egg Cream Milk Stout uses Fox’s U-Bet syrup to nod to the classic egg cream, while the Black and White Cream Ale brings in cacao nibs and vanilla to channel the city’s beloved black-and-white cookie.

“I have always wanted to expand our brand into the alcohol business,” said Alan Rosen, the third-generation owner of Junior’s. “What better way to achieve this than by partnering our legendary desserts with an up-and-coming Brooklyn-based legend. This is definitely the perfect marriage – a craft beer line fit for the Borough of Kings and, pardon the pun, the ‘other half’ and well beyond. Now, I’m as excited as an expectant father; I can’t wait until the birth of the beers.”

Beginning May 7, you’ll be able to find the collab beers on draft and in cans at Junior’s New York locations and Other Half spots, with a wider retail release at select East Coast stores. Other Half will also offer shipping to 33 states.
