A fresh pizza debate is ready to come out of the oven.
The rankings were compiled by 50 Top Pizza, an Italy-based guide whose anonymous inspectors evaluate pizzerias on food, service, and overall customer experience.
The 50 Top Pizza USA 2025 rankings place Una Pizza Napoletana in New York at No. 1 nationally, with NY claiming the deepest showing among the states requested.
The ranking also gives strong placement to nearby standouts, including Pizzeria Beddia in Philadelphia at No. 11, Razza in Jersey City at No. 12, and Zeneli in New Haven at No. 35.
The page provided by 50 Top Pizza lists 50 ranked positions, with ties creating more than 50 named pizzerias.
According to 50 Top Pizza’s own guiding principles, its rankings are based on anonymous inspector visits, with inspectors evaluating the pizzeria as a whole, including pizza quality, service, customer experience, and consistency. Visits must be anonymous and supported by receipts, and the guide says about 20 to 30 percent of inspectors change each year to protect anonymity.

The results show NY with 11 entries among the requested states, followed by NJ, MA, and MD, each with 2. CT, PA, and VA each have one.
