As a single dad I’ve been trying to get the budget down and this is peak everything I’ve been looking for. I put some chipotle sauce in it and cheap sausage. All in about 10 bucks for two bags and dinner for two nights

Dude I made this recently and was so amazed… I used an old pack of ham that was about to go bad and it was amazing. There so many ways to zest it up too… and 15 beans!!!

    15 beans? In this economy???

I love it but my husband hates it 😭😭😭

Pro tip as a Louisiana girl that grew up on this stuff for MANY years – add greens! Spinach, kale, collard, literally any sort of leafy greens. It adds extra veggies and goes SO well with the seasonings (and added hot sauce !)

    I keep this on hand.
I’ll add in either Smoked sausage or ham.
Cast iron skillet cornbread for my side and I’m set!

I will double. I haven’t had this exact mix, but a similar mix and yes. Tons of fiber, protein, iron, potassium, and more. Literally just mix this, a jar of salsa, a small diced onion, some chopped up hotdogs, water and whatever seasonings and you can get a surprising amount of filling food for very little money. Bonus points for adding bouillon powder for the MSG, cottage cheese for protein, and extra oil because of flavor plus fat makes you feel full. Especially if you add rice? Probably the closest thing you’re going to get to “human kibble”.

Hmm, that is for soup, and not a bag of jelly beans?

It’s one of my top slow cooker faves and I add so much to enhance it better! It lasts soooooo long so many meals!

Add a cheap vinegar-based hot sauce and you’re in business.

I don’t think I’ve seen this before, I’ll have to see if there is a knock off in my area

Is the Cajun bean soup drastically different from the regular 15 bean soup that they make? In Southern California I can’t seem to find the Cajun variety at my grocery store. 😭 I guess I could just throw some andouille sausage in it along with the ham, but that defeats the purpose of it being a budget recipe.

Thx op! I need to finally try this!!

Add hot sauce, spinach and keilbasa smoked turkey. Relish and freezes well.

These comments have me excited to try this.

Just added a few bags to my next grocery order. Sounds sooo comforting and wholesome.

I’ve never had this and unfortunately beans make my husband’s stomach hurt real bad. But how would you cook this? Do the beans have to soak for 24hrs? I don’t eat pork so any chicken, turkey ideas would be great

Is the difference between this and the regular one just the seasoning packet?

I love this too! Greens are amazing in it.

I like to soak some of this overnight and add to my pot of chili! Adds more variety of beans instead of just the usual kidney and black beans etc

I keep meaning to try this but I know it’s going to a first class ticket to fart city

Hey so you can actually also plant these and grow…bean sprouts…i think, idk you can grow SOMETHING😭

The 15 bean mix looks great. Absolute yes to fresh or frozen greens. I add skinless (sometimes boneless) chicken and spices. Lots of spices.

Pull out that ham bone in the back of the freezer from last Easter and add that to the pot.

  23. oopsiedaisy58

It is delicious with cornbread or garlic toast, but have the Bean-O ready for after!

  24. ConstantAggressive

There are way more than 15 beans in there wow 😍

Add collard greens and cut up sausage/ham. It’s cheap and sooooo filling

  28. PlainOrganization

I love that stuff. We are bourgeois so we usually add a sausage
