America’s original corn chip is about to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary with a flavor that is as American as it gets. Snack bloggers say that Fritos will release Spicy Dill Pickle Flavor Twists in the very near future.

Spicy Dill Pickle Flavor Twists will be packaged in a star-studded red, white, and blue bag with a banner “celebrating 250 years of America.” Instagrammer @markie_devo describes the flavor as “a punchy, tangy profile with a hint of spice, tapping into the continued surge of pickle-forward flavors with the fun, spiral- shaped crunch of Fritos Flavor Twists.” He reports that Spicy Dill Pickle Flavor Twists will appear in major stores later in May.”Spicy Dill Pickle FRITOS?! We are about to celebrate the 250th birthday of America in the most American way possible – with some incredible new snacks! 🥒🇺🇸,” adds @snackolator. “So far these look like they’ll be in the smaller convenience bags along with standard sized Fritos Twists bags at all retailers.”

Fritos Twists are currently sold in just one flavor, Honey BBQ. Needless to say, those who love pickle flavor are over the moon about the upcoming spiral-shaped snack. Others say they are getting a little tired of this trend. Has America overdone the pickle thing, they ask? And how do we really feel about combining pickle and spice together?

Opinions will vary, but Spicy Dill Pickle Flavor Twists would certainly taste interesting in our Frito Corn Salad or that old American original, Frito Pie, at this year’s Fourth of July celebration.
