Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant announces closure

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Kingsport staple will soon close its doors for good.

Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant announced Thursday that its final day will be June 12.

“This was not an easy decision for Mike and Ralph, but they’re ready for the next chapter of their lives and more time with family,” the restaurant posted on social media.

The restaurant previously announced plans to close in 2023, but it stayed open after a potential buyer backed out.

“We understand we have shared this news before, but this time the decision is final,” the restaurant posted. “We are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and understanding from our community throughout the years.”

The restaurant opened its doors in 1987.
