Was surprised as the pallet was in good shape, no damage to the cardboard, wood or foam

They probably will send you a new bottom. If they let you keep the broken one. Id keep that for parts in the future.
Ya, we see these posts pop up sometimes. Only so much you can do when shipping a large, fragile piece of ceramic around the world. Could even be a manufacturing defect. They’ll replace it.
