A stroll through Beacon in the warmer months can sometimes feel like you’re walking through a European city: alfresco dining, live music, and river views. On Eliza Street, Oui Oui turns it up a notch with transportive French comfort food and signature sips. While the business started out as a catering service in New Hamburg before expanding to Beacon’s Hudson Valley Food Hall last summer, the French-inspired concept is now in its own thriving brick-and-mortar spot where owners Georges and Laura Goba-Byrne create memorable dining experiences, from sit-down service to hosting private events.

An International Affair
Oui Oui may lean heavily into French cuisine, but the people behind the operation draw on experiences from all over the world. Husband-and-wife duo Georges and Laura Goba-Byrne both have over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industries across Europe and America.
Originally from Ireland, Laura has worked in her field since age 13 in her home country as well as in Iceland, Thailand, and Scotland. On the other hand, Georges is from Paris, where he got his start in the industry before moving to the United States 17 years ago to work in high-end New York City kitchens like Soho House and The Standard, High Line. When the couple moved to the Hudson Valley, they used their combined expertise to start something of their own.

From Food Hall to Storefront
The Goba-Byrnes launched Oui Oui in 2022 as a weekly catering service for the New Hamburg Yacht Club before expanding in 2024 with a food truck to share European-inspired cuisine at events across the region. In July 2025, the couple brought their vision indoors with a location in the Hudson Valley Food Hall, and Oui Oui finally became its current brick-and-mortar restaurant in February of this year.
“The community reception was great, and we built a strong following that has transitioned with us to our new location. While we enjoyed the food hall, the space was a bit too small to manage both our daily service and our busy catering business,” says Laura.
At the new Eliza Street location, the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, as well as catering for offsite events and hosting for intimate gatherings and private dinners.

A Focus on French
On the menu at Oui Oui, customers will find a delicious lineup of French comfort food that pays homage to Georges’ home country. While from Paris, Georges’ family heritage is from the Ivory Coast in West Africa, so the locale remains connected to global Franco food influences and hopes to continue exploring the cuisine of the Francophonie.
“We want to move away from the idea that French food must be pretentious to be traditional,” says Laura. “Our goal is to offer high-quality, accessible French fare—like the best Croque Monsieur you’ve ever had—paired with French wine or beer in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Along with Croque Madames and Monsieurs, the Beacon eatery serves unique dishes like French onion smashburgers, poutine, and bistro bowls with Provençal rice, herbed salad, and your choice of chicken, brisket, or falafel. Stop by in the morning for breakfast offerings including French toast, caprese croissants, poulet frit (buttermilk fried chicken, coleslaw, brioche bun), and the Oui Oui Baby! – a panini pressed wrap stuffed with baked chicken, bechamel sauce, tomato, lettuce, and frites.
Don’t forget about drinks and sweets, as Oui Oui has an extensive list of signature lemonades flavored with lavender, mint, and elderflower, as well as desserts like brownie a la mode and crème brulee cannoli.

As we move into outdoor dining season, the eatery is planning to expand its dinner menu to include classic French dishes like steak frites, coq au vin, and bouillabaisse and launch a weekend brunch menu with chicken and waffles, new French toast options, and French wine and beer pairings.
Oui Oui is located at 2 Eliza Street in Beacon.
