Hi all,
I just bought a new to me traeger pro series 22. I was excited to start smoking but noticed the auger would kick on for about 6-9 seconds, then turn off. It would only add a couple pellets at a time. Wasn’t sure if this is by design. I also noticed the motor assembly turns sideways until it hits the hopper metal. I know I have the hopper off and maybe that would hold it on place, just wasn’t sure if that is normal.
Thanks!

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!
If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!
*What seasoning did you use?
*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?
*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?
Traeger on!

Everything you’ve described and showed in the photo is normal. Auger spins according to your temp setting to deliver appropriate amount of pellets to keep the temp in the desired range.
Everything you described is normal.
From my personal experience:
If the grill gives you an error, such as LEr, that means the grill failed to increase in temperature within a 10 minute duration (could also imply something else though) and in my case, the augur was jammed with water-logged pellets and couldn’t rotate. The jam killed the motor. The tell was the pin (small hex head bolt with a nut threaded on the other side) that holds the motor to the augur shaft had started to bend. If your experience is similar, you can get a new motor and pin on Amazon, but if the grill is working fine then it’s normal as others have already said.
