French authorities inspected two Nestlé Waters sites on Tuesday as part of unannounced searches. According to Radio France, the Perrier plant in Vergèze and a laboratory in Vittel are affected.

According to Radio France’s investigative editorial team, around 40 officers from the anti-fraud agency were deployed. The measures are in connection with an investigation by the Paris public prosecutor’s office following a complaint of alleged fraud by the non-governmental organization Foodwatch.

Nestlé Waters confirmed the ongoing inspections to Radio France and stated that it was cooperating fully with the authorities. The public prosecutor’s office has not yet officially commented on the searches.

The Nestlé subsidiary has been under pressure for some time. In 2024, the company admitted that it had previously used prohibited processing methods. A sales process for the water division was recently initiated.
